She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, J.N. Foret Jr.; and her grandmothers, Lillian Legendre Foret and Dorothy Guillot Daze'. Leila, born in Corpus Christi, Texas on Aug. 15, 1984, was a resident of Lafayette. A strong and bright child, she was known to be someone special and very much her own person. She was energetic, always afraid to miss something as there were so many things to do. Leila was a graduate of Clements High School in Sugarland, Texas and attended LSU in Baton Rouge and UL- Lafayette. She was passionate about many things as she looked to her future. The medical field was a possibility, but her second passion was restaurants and cooking and never could figure out which was the right calling. And then there was her love for music, which still lives on. Leila touched a lot of hearts with her kindness, candor and humor during her short lifetime. She was a very compassionate and generous person and it carried her through illness, always positive, always the fighter. Her confident, strong minded and strong willed character was an inspiration to all. The family requests that visitation be observed from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 11 a.m. to funeral time Monday in Martin and Castille's Southside location. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Heart of Hospice for their loving care and compassion. Memorial contributions may be made in Leila Lynn Foret's name to Heart of Hospice, 201 West Vermilion, Lafayette, LA 70501. Martin and Castille-Southside Funeral Home of Lafayette is in charge of arrangements. ===================
