Janice "Wookie" Gibson, 48, a native of Belle Rose, died Saturday, June 26, 
2010, at her residence in Donaldsonville.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4:30 p.m. today at Williams & Southall Funeral 
Home, 101 Loop 945, Donaldsonville, and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at 
Virginia Baptist Church in Ewellville. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday 
conducted by the Rev. Lloyd Jones, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her father, Morrell Myles of Belle Rose; one daughter, 
Shontell Gibson of Donaldsonville; two sons, Gary and Kirk Gibson of 
Donaldsonville; two brothers, Kenneth Gibson of Baton Rouge, and Felton and 
wife, Frandrell Gibson of Donaldsonville; four sisters, Annette and Olivia 
Gibson, Lois and husband, Patrick Sullivan, all of Donaldsonville, Lynette and 
husband, Jason Freeman, of Dallas; one brother-in-law, Alfred Butler II of Belle 
Rose; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and 
friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Himes Gibson; one sister, 
Albertha Butler; three brothers, Michael, Tyrone, and Jimmy Gibson; and her 
grandparents; one step-grandparent; and one uncle.

She was a homemaker.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Donaldsonville, 225-473-1900, is in charge 
of arrangements.
