Olga Bertrand Simon, 88, a native of Pecan Island and resident of Gibson, died 
at 6:39 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today 
at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. 
Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the 
church.

She is survived by her son, Rodney Lee and wife, Joyce Miller, of Gibson; two 
daughters, Judy Ann Miller of Gibson and Betty and husband, Joe Veillon, of 
Pineville; 11 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-
grandchildren; and her first husband, Doris Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pierre Simon; her parents, Numa 
Mitchell Bertrand and Sarah Hardin Bertrand; eight brothers; seven sisters; and 
three great-grandchildren.

She was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
