Delatte, 85, a native and resident of Choctaw, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2010. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Choctaw Fire Dept. in Choctaw and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. James Chapel in Choctaw. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Annie Mae Molaison Delatte; one son, Warren Delatte and wife, Bea; two daughters, Sharon Martinez and husband, Garry, and Valerie Cortez; one brother, Noah Delatte; two sisters, Eula Brock and Suzanne Ordoyne; five grandchildren, Angelle, Anna, Lenore, Andrea and Katie; and five great- grandchildren, Cody, Tory, Alexis, Connor and Amie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Delatte and Bridget Ordoyne; two brothers, Nore' Delatte and Felix Delatte; one sister, Lena Benoit; and one son- in-law, Schuyler Cortez. Fernand was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Campaign and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Retired from Avondale Shipyard, he was the first response fireman with the Choctaw Fire Dept. as well as Grand Marshal of the Choctaw Fire Dept. in 2005. He also served as an usher and Eucharistic Minister at St. James Chapel in Choctaw. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ===================
