Dill Jr., 84, a native of Labadieville and resident of Thibodaux, died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Thibodaux. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. He is survived by his wife, Maryann Blanchard Dill; one son, John Dill and wife, Peggy; three daughters, Jane D. Landry and husband, John; Susan D. Fontana and husband, Steve, and Myra D. Thomas and Michael; one brother, Gerald M. Dill and wife, Norma; one sister, Eliska D. Pollock and husband, Melvin; eight grandchildren, Stephen and Lori St. Germain, Amy S. Gaubert, Ann L. Furr, Mary Landry, David and Jenna Isbell and Riley Dill; and two great-grandchildren, Collin and Elyse St. Germain. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilda LeBlanc Dill and Louis L. Dill Sr. He graduated from Labadieville High School, the University of Southwestern Louisiana and received a master's degree from LSU. He served in Lafourche Parish schools for 37 years. He was president of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association, Knights of Columbus 4th degree and a member for 51 years and a Eucharistic Minister and Reader at both St. Genevieve and St. John Catholic Churches. He also volunteered at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center and was a World War II veteran having served in Japan. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ===================
