Mathilda Roussel Ellender, 75, a native of Montegut and a resident of Houma, 
died Saturday, July 31, 2010.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Samart Funeral Home of Houma. A 
memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She is survived by three daughters, Debra Ellender, Loretta Tanner and husband, 
Bill, and Lelia Ellender; two brothers, Whitney and Marcellin Roussel; two 
sisters, Jessie Etheridge and Evelyn Carter; 10 grandchildren; and four great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Ellender; her parents, Edgar 
and Eva Roussell; one son, Allen Ellender; two brothers, Felix and Mertil 
Roussel; and two sisters, Ada Roussel and Marie Hebert.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph Hospice of Thibodaux are preferred.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
