Her life will be celebrated at a Memorial Mass held at 10 a.m. today at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 12424 Burgundy Lane, in Baton Rouge followed by a gathering in the Family Life Center at St. Patrick's. She is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Aaron Folse; their three children, Lucas of Miami, Jacob of New Orleans, and Sarah of Baton Rouge; one sister, Margaret Hastings of Houston; one brother, Jim Hastings and wife, Georgette, of Gainesville, Fla.; her in-laws, Donald and Mary Folse of Baton Rouge; her brothers-in-law, Rhett and wife, Robbye, of Little Rock, Ark., Bart of New Orleans, Matt and wife, Melissa, of Raceland, Stuart and wife, Donna Buchanan, of Champagne, Ill., and Don and wife, Jenifer, of Kingwood, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stuart and Elizabeth "Betty" Dean Hastings. Terry was born in Glendale, Calif., and moved frequently during her childhood as her father's geology assignments with Phillips Petroleum changed. She lived in Beaumont, Texas, Houston, Bartlesville, Okla., and Lafayette. She graduated from LSU with a B.S. in sociology in 1972 and was a social worker for three years. She moved to Raceland in 1975 with her husband and worked at St. Anne Hospital. Terry graduated with an associate of science in nursing from Nicholls State University in 1986. Her nursing career spanned 24 years from Thibodaux Hospital and Terrebonne Hospital working in Labor and Delivery, the Lafourche Parish Health Unit, St. Charles Parish Hospital and Women's Hospital in Baton Rouge in the Assessment Center. Terry loved going to the beach, as first observed in a photo with her mom and dad when she was only a year old. She continued that love affair throughout her life, celebrating 52 consecutive years of white sand, blue water and lovely sunsets at Grayton Beach, Fla., this summer. As a passionate alumna, she was an avid fan of all LSU sports. Terry's love of music led her to her first Jazz Fest in 1976. She never missed a Jazz Fest and even worked as a volunteer for 7 years. Terry got much joy out of volunteering and serving others. She will advance the training of medical students by donating her body to the Willed Body Program at Tulane University School of Medicine. She'll be spying for LSU! The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude for the wonderful care Terry received from the many doctors, nurses and caretakers at the Baton Rouge NeuroMedical Center, Mary Bird Perkins, MD Anderson and Hospice Foundation of Baton Rouge. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Cancer Services of Baton Rouge or Hospice Foundation of Baton Rouge. ===================
