Urbain Joseph Fournier, 88, a native and resident of Houma, died at 4:05 p.m. 
Thursday, August 5, 2010.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. 
Liturgy of the Word will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with burial 
in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Theresa Rodrigue Fournier; two sons, 
Brian Joseph Fournier and Dean Paul Fournier and wife, Denise; four daughters, 
Wanda Babin and husband, Daniel, Claire Melancon and husband, Matt, Tammy Boquet 
and husband, Bob, and Julie Moss and husband, Larry; four brothers, Russell 
Fournier, George Fournier, Elmer Fournier and Daniel Fournier; two sisters, 
Georgia Hebert and Barbara White; 18 grandchildren; and three great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Onezip Fournier and Clemence Breaux 
Fournier; and two brothers, Louis Fournier and Onezip Fournier.

He worked for Superior Oil Company for 30 years then went into business for 
himself, opening Houma Saltwater and Disposal. He was a parishioner of St. Louis 
Catholic Church and served in the Navy during World War II.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in honor of U.J. Fournier to 
St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
