Linwood Gros

Linwood "Pookie" Gros, 81, a native of Gretna and a resident of Mt. Hermon, died 
at 10:32 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the 
church cemetery.

He is survived by three sons, Dale Gros and wife, Dana, John Gros and wife, 
Kelly and Rory Gros; one daughter, Vera Sauerwin and husband, Buzz; one sister, 
Doreda "Tottie" Gros Acosta; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah Francis Gros and Heneritta Bouvier 
Gros; one daughter, Belinda Gros; one brother, Noah Joseph Gros; and two 
sisters, Reba Lagrange and Lily Lagrange.

He was Catholic and a U.S. veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired marsh 
buggy driver.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
