Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2010/f1008.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Eve Catherine Guidry, 86, surrounded by her immediate family, passed away at home at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010 in Abita Springs. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from 6 p.m. to midnight Sunday and from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Monday with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 11 a.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway in Harvey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, La. 23 in Port Sulphur, with interment to follow at Our Lady of Good Harbor Cemetery in Buras. She is survived by three brothers, Adam Chartier and wife, Shirley, Allen Chartier, and Carl Chartier and wife, Nettie; six children, Eric Joseph Guidry Jr. and wife, Lorraine, Michael A. Guidry and wife, Janice, Charles "Danny" Guidry and wife, Corlee, Mona Lisa Guidry Jones, Julienne Guidry Erfle, and Christine Guidry Baza; 12 grandchildren, Rachel and husband, Eric, Rachelle and husband, Glenn Michael, Brian, Jonathan and wife, Amanda, Brad and wife, Emily, Sean, Jacob and wife, Nicole, Matthew and wife, Courtney, Jeremiah, Sarah and husband, Edmond, Janae and Janna; two great-grandchildren, Calleigh, Destiny and soon to be Daniel; three step-grandchildren, Jason and wife, Alisha, Angela and husband, Simon, and Jamie; six step-great-grandchildren, Dakota, Simon, Sean, Sydney, Mikell and Madison; her beloved Poodle, Sadie Lin; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas, Joseph and Edward "Jerry" Chartier; and one son-in-law, Richard "Ricky" Jones. She was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Port Eads, La., to the late Theodore and Alva Chartier. For 51 years, she was the wife of the late Eric J. Guidry Sr. of Montegut and a former resident of Burrwood and Venice, and presently a resident of Abita Springs for the past three years. She was devoted to her loving God and the Blessed Mother through her recitation of the Holy Rosary and her Novenas and was a long time parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Venice. Affectionately known as "Maw-Maw," "Evie-Devie," and "Ms. Eve," she enjoyed playing tennis, late night card games, board games, trips to the casino, the Saints and the Atlanta Braves and traveling with family members and friends. She loved all of God's children. She tirelessly devoted her love and time to her family. While a great loss to her family, Heaven welcomes an incredible Angel. A special thanks to the AmeraCare Family Hospice employees, especially Sherry Lejeune, Charisse Galatas, Brian Phillips, Lindy Jaccuzzo, Renee Smith and Deacon Butch Shartle, that lovingly cared for Eve in her time of need.
