Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thibodaux Funeral Home, 104 St. Patrick Hwy in Thibodaux and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 100 Hwy 311 in Schriever. Mass will be at held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by two daughters, Wynoma Squires and Julie Skains; special friend, Juan Martinez; one son, Robert Haydel; one brother, Martial Babin; seven grandchildren, Vanessa, Lisette, Amy, Michelle, Nikki, Sarah and Stephanie; 10 great-grandchildren, Noelle, Holly, Morgan, Chase, Wayne, Denise, Taylor, Kayla, Eliza and Dru; one great-great-grandchild, James Ryan; and four guard-dogs, Eight Ball, Girl Dog "Ace", Coon, and three-legged Junior. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martial and Evelina Babin; her husband, Thomas James Haydel "Willie" of 61 blissful years of marriage; one son, Michael James Haydel; two sisters, Leona Bourgeois and Clara Pitre; and son-in- law, James A. Squires. Solidelle turned 85 on Aug. 1, she was graciously granted her last request--- You made it Mom. Solidelle was a fighter and survivor of many challenges. We salute her strength and determination. She was a Bingo fan and a Saint enthusiast, artistic painter, and the world's best mom and grandmother. Special thanks to Mary Beth & Joyce "T-Sis" LeBoeuf, Sylvia Benoit, Janice Steward, Loretta Landry, Father Phillip, and all the staff at Thibodaux Regional Hospital and Oschner Medical Hospital, and Fresenius Kidney Dialysis Thibodaux Center.
