John "Johnny" Frederick Hoffmann, 80, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died 
at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to funeral time 
Saturday at Landry's Funeral Home. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. 
Joseph Co-Cathedral, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mollie Rollins Hoffmann; two sons, Lee Hoffmann and 
wife, Datchanee, and Stuart Hoffmann and wife, Shawna; one daughter, Janice 
Hoffmann Shearer and husband, William; one niece, Angela Gray Crighton; three 
grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one stepson, Keith Lirette; three 
stepdaughters, Mollie Borne, Pamela Gyan and Lyndel Ordoyne; and seven 
stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Camille and Marguerite Hoffmann; and 
one sister, Marguerite Hoffmann Norris.

Johnny was a retired civil engineer at Nicholls State University. His beloved 
pastimes were cooking, singing in a barber shop quartet, the "Tune Aces," as 
well as 50 years with the St. Joseph Church choir. He relished the opportunity 
to entertain others as Cajun humorist "Uncle Noon." His life was blessed and 
enriched by the love of family and many friends.

Landry's Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
