Friends will be received at 10 a.m. funeral time Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with interment at Sand Hill Cemetery in Ponchatoula. He is survived by his second wife, Elaine Hoover; two daughters, Julia Cammadine and Katrina Hood; his grandchildren, Gregory and Sgt. Opal Hood, Brandon, Bradley and Eric Cammadine; his foster granddaughter, Jill Robichaux; his foster great-granddaughter, Erica Robichaux; and one sister, Cheerie Sanders. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gail Matherne; his parents, I.N. Hoover and Lydia McLin; and two brothers, Issac and Arthur Hoover. He was born July 27, 1933 in Ponchatoula and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a retired educator for Terrebonne Parish Schools and he served in the U.S. Army.
