Lorris Lathrop Sr., 89, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, died at 1:36 
p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2010.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at First Baptist Church of 
Golden Meadow. Service will be held at noon Friday at the church, with burial at 
Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Leona St. Germain Lathrop; one son, 
Lorris Lathrop Jr. and wife, Iris; one daughter, Lorra Lathrop Richard and 
husband, Huey Jr.; one stepdaughter, Lois Boudreaux Rousse and husband, Norman; 
one brother, Morrison (Lou) Lathrop; two sisters, Doris Lathrop Bouzigard and 
Georgiana Lathrop Gaspard; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two 
great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodford Lathrop Sr. and Leoncia Coron 
Lathrop; three brothers, Bradford Lathrop, Davidson Lathrop and Woodford Lathrop 
Jr.; and five sisters, Nora Lathrop Anselmi, Eleonore Lathrop Pitre, Carrie 
Lathrop Cheramie, Dorothy Lathrop Sacco and Onise Lathrop Galliano.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
