Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Annunziata Catholic Church. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery. She is survived by three daughters, Sherril A. Bonvillain and husband, Wayne Sr. of Bayou Blue, Trudy Castagna, of Lafayette, and Colette Boudreaux and husband, Kurt Sr. of Houma; two daughters-in-law, Diane Boudreaux Lirette, of Houma, and Betty Palmer and fiance, Roger Comer of Grand Caillou; 12 grandchildren, Aimee Celestine and husband, Steven of Houma, Leslie LeBlanc and husband, Ricky Sr. of Houma, Sadie Claire Bonvillain and husband, Wayne Jr. of Houma, Sandie Lyn Simon and husband, Ricky of Thibodaux, Nicole Cross and husband, David of Bluff City, Tenn., Kurt Boudreaux Jr. of Houma, Kelley Boudreaux and fiance, Wayne DeRoche of Houma, Becky Slaughter and husband, Chris of Hammond, Lea' Castagna and fiance, James Morse of Covington, Trevis Lirette and fiancee, Cherisse Robichaux of Grand Caillou, and Alyssa Claire Lirette of Houma; 17 great-grandchildren, Ricky LeBlanc Jr., Haley LeBlanc, Jacob LeBlanc, Hannah LeBlanc, Trey Autin, Justin Bonvillain, Faith Simon, Claire Simon, Sawyer Cross, Cooper Cross, Amber Wallace, Rainy Boudreaux, Kurt Boudreaux III, Kaysin Walker, Kyler Boudreaux, Trev'lle Thibodeaux and Ava Lirette; one step-grandchild, Brock Musso; two step- great-grandchildren, C.J. Slaughter and Akeem Celestine; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces, Lion's Club family and special friends and mother figures, Aunt Maybe Martin and Mrs. Eula Guenoit. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris Lirette; one son, Craig Lirette; her parents, Harry Babin and Clara Martin Babin Bergeron; one brother, Sidney Babin; her grandparents, Alfred Martin and Rebecca LeCompte Martin; one great-grandson, Trevis Lirette Jr.; and one son-in-law, Dennis Castagna. She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends especially, Mrs. Marie, her faithful friend in the nursing home, her lifelong friends and nursing home visitors, Marlene Cenac, Agnes Babin, Mike Connors. Claire was a devoted wife and mother. She was a Lions Club Charter member of 40 years and Lion's Club past president for numerous years. She was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Award. She was a faithful worker for Lion's Crippled Children's Camp and continued work for her husbands eye foundation projects. She loved cooking for her family and friends and taking care of her lovely home. She also enjoyed playing cards especially with her neighbors, going to the casino and cutting coupons for her friends. The family would like to thank all her neighbors especially Dale and Dottie for watching over her during her last few months in her home. Also, to the Chateau Terrebonne Nursing Home aides, nurses, staff and all her friends especially Mrs. Myrtle and Mrs. Joy for their concern, care and comfort. To Dr. Brian Matherne, Dr. Bruce Guidry, Dr. Orgeron, Dr. Scott and Dickie Haydel, and Dr. Tedesco for their outstanding care and concern. To the staff of Terrebonne General and Physicians Alliance Hospital. To Father Joshua Rodrigue and Father Mike Bergeron for all their prayers, blessings and guidance not only for Mom but for the family.
