MART, FREDDIE 

Freddie James Mart, 65, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Gray, 
died at 5:17 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Gayle Wright Baptist 
Church. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial at 
Halfway Cemetery in Gray.

He is survived by two sons, Eldridge Mart of Dallas, and Rashawn R. Mart and 
wife, Tameka, of Houma; one daughter, Tilecia M. Akere of Irving, Texas; nine 
grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Perry Mart of Houma and Larry 
Mart of Gray; and eight sisters, Helen M. Woods of Gibson, Ernestine and 
husband, William Nells, of Gray, Shirley M. Frank of Gray, Claudette and 
husband, Wesley Nixon, of Gray, Joan Dell and husband, Micheal Nells, of Gray, 
Angela M. Mart of Gray, Lydia and husband, Donald Gwin of Schriever, and Mary 
Jane Jackson of Houma.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Ringo Mart; his parents, Ernest 
and Helen Richard Mart; three sisters, Caroline A. Pharr, Alma D. Brooks and 
Rosamary Wallis; and his grandparents, Louis and Ossie Mart, and James Richard 
and Rose Griffin Richard.

Golden Gate Funeral Home of Dallas is in charge of arrangements.
