Kernest Anthony Pierce Jr., 50, a native of Fort Dix, N.J. and a resident of Cut 
Off, died at 8:57 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the 
church cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Kernest A. "Coon" Pierce Sr. and Mary Ann Bernard 
Pierce; three sisters, Camilla P. Pitre and husband, Kenneth "Kanky", Karen P. 
Wells and husband, Charles, and Dolly P. Callais and husband, Gavin; his nieces 
and nephews, Trey Pitre, Cody Pitre and fiance, Rael Leonard, Brad Wells and 
wife, Jean O. Wells, Blake Wells, Megan Callais and boyfriend, Matt Hebert, and 
Stephen Callais; his great-niece and great-nephews, Bree, Sawyer and Brady 
Wells; and two godchildren, Angela Matherne and Joseph Dorion.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harris and Alice Pierce; 
and his maternal grandparents, Alcide and Pauline Bernard.

He was the organist and a sponsor of the CYO at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He 
was a 3rd degree of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa 
Fraternity.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mary Eschete, Mrs. Loa Francis and Journey 
Hospice.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
