Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2010/f1008.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Evelyn "Blackie" Adams Stevens, 94, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Schriever, died at 8:20 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, in her home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time today at Thibodaux Funeral Home Parlor. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Schriever, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Stevens Ables and husband, John, Elaine Stevens Ables and Sharon Stevens Pollet and husband, Leonard; one son, Louis Stevens and wife, Delsie; 10 grandchildren, Debbie Ables, Melissa Ables Tardiff, John Steven Ables, Marshall Ables, Michael Ables, Kay Stevens Lafleur, Amy Stevens Leger, Rachel Pollet Bonnette, Tanya Pollet Martin and Kim Stevens Avet; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; 11 step-great- grandchildren; 12 step-great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Catherine "Tootie" Adams Brown; numerous nieces, nephews and adopted family; and three godchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Scuddy Stevens; one son, Warren Stevens; her parents, Louis and Edna Baye Adams; three brothers, Louis "Plug" Adams Jr., Lionel Adams and Calvern "Funny" Adams; and three sisters, Thelma Marie Adams Richard, Lucille Adams Ponson and Carmel Adams Boudreaux.
