Larry Darnell Baldwin, 58, a native of Jackson, Miss., and a resident of Houma, 
died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010.

A private service was held Aug. 31 at Samart Funeral Home of Houma. A memorial 
service will be held at a later date.

He is survived by his devoted companion, Caroly Whaley; one son, Theotris 
Baldwin; three daughters, Shadonna Baldwin, Katrina B. Johnson and Latisha B. 
Whaley; two sisters, Gloria Allen and Barbara Christian; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Louise Yates Baldwin; 
two brothers, John Alex Baldwin and Nathaniel Baldwin; and one sister, Annie 
Mae Fox.

Leonise Rogers Breaux, 86, a native and a resident of Lockport, the greatest 
and most loving mother in the world, passed away peacefully in the presence of 
her children and family at 11:35 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010.

Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport 
and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Holy Savior Catholic Church in 
Lockport. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in 
the church cemetery.

She is survived by three sons, Gerald "Buzz" Breaux and wife, Barbara, Carol 
Breaux and wife, Gracie, and Raymond Breaux; three daughters, Betty Breaux 
Edwards and husband, John "Butch", Joyce Breaux Polkey and husband, Gary, and 
Marilyn Breaux Brown; two sisters, Lorena Griffin and Irene Arcement; 12 
grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven step-
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Junius F. Breaux; her parents, Leon 
and Emily Rogers; one son-in-law, Bart Brown; and one sister, Earline 
Dominique.

She was a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church and a member of Holy 
Savior Ladies Altar Society. She was a sweet and loving mother who touched 
everyone's lives in a kind, caring and loving way. She will be missed dearly by 
her entire family, relatives and friends.

Breaux and husband, Gerald; three stepsons, Keith Falgoust and wife, Sandy, 
Robert Falgoust and Timothy Falgoust; three stepdaughters, Robin Adams and 
husband, Mikey, Roberta Comardelle and husband, Gilbert, and Monica Falgoust; 
17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Enzie Breaux Matherne; one 
daughter, Denise Foret; and her stepfather, Louis "Bake" Matherne.

She was a member of Bayou Blue Assembly of God, a member of the Primetimers, 
SML Bible study and House of Hope Ministry.

In Memory of "Professor" Gottlieb Kogel, 93, long standing resident of Slidell, 
and Proprietor of Indian Hills Nudist Campgrounds along with his late wife, 
Dora Ann Kogel for the past 39 years, passed away Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010.

The ceremony will include a viewing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Honaker 
Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (in Forest Lawn Cemetery) in Slidell. From 
12:15 to 1 p.m., there will be three short ceremonies lasting approximately 15 
minutes each from members of the Masonic Lodge No. 311, Eastern Star Lodge No. 
59 and S.A.M. and I.B.M. Magicians called "The Breaking of the Wand." Mass will 
follow at 1 p.m., with a private interment held at a later date.

Survivors include his sister, Mrs. Charlotte Freese; his long standing 
companion, Keala Dourrieu; and Mrs. Charlotte Freese's nephew, John Freese.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

He will be missed by his family, his many friends, care givers, employees, 
residents at Indian Hills and many daily guest visitors to the campgrounds. 
Professor was a member for approximately 60 years of the S.A.M. & I.B.M. 
Magician Fraternity, Shriner's, Masonic Freemasons (Mother Lodge No. 373 and 
Lodge No. 311 in Slidell). He was also a member of the Lakeshore Chapter No. 59 
of the Eastern Star of Slidell since April 12, 2005.

As professor always said, "PRAISE THE LORD".

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vila Paul Zeringue; her parents, Jean 
Pierre Cenac and Eva Luke Cenac; three brothers, Pierre Cenac, Norman Cenac and 
Martin Cenac; and four sisters, Josephine Belanger, Esia Labat, Helen Boudreaux 
and Hilda Bergeron.

She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. 
She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She also loved gardening. She 
was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary.

The family would like to thank The Medical Team for all their years of support 
and Journey Hospice for their help and support during her last days.

Dwayne died from an 11-month battle with kidney cancer. He loved to fish.

sons, Keith Foret and wife, Mary, of Baton Rouge, and Emile Foret Jr. and wife, 
Ann, of Raceland; two daughters, Linda Ledoux and husband, Robert, of 
Youngsville, and Phyllis Boudreaux and husband, Ernest, of Thibodaux; two 
sisters, Annabelle Lirette of Thibodaux, and Laura Dufrene of Raceland; 11 
grandchildren, Chantelle, Raine, Justin, Lauren, Mary, Christopher, Jamie, 
Christie, Joshua, Lauri and Chad; and eight great-grandchildren, Bryce, 
Dominique, Kobe, Jacob, Emilie Rose, Courtlyn, Caleb and Coewen.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosemary Guidry Foret; one 
grandson, Jeremy Percle; and his parents, Alevan Foret and Odette Zeringue 
Foret.

Emile retired as vice president production supervisor with Avondale Shipyard 
after 47 years of faithful service. He loved and celebrated life to the fullest. 
He enjoyed Cajun music and dancing.

Jack P. Guidry, 95, a native of Richard, a long-time resident of Orange, Texas, 
and most recently a resident of Gibson, died at 12:15 a.m. Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 
at Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 5 to 9 p.m. today with 
a recitation of the Rosary held at 7 p.m., and continue from 10 a.m. to funeral 
time Wednesday at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point. 
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church conducted by 
Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc, with interment following in the church cemetery.

He is survived by one son, Burton Jack Guidry and wife, Sarah Ann, of Orange, 
Texas; three daughters, Lou Guidry and husband, James Sr., of Lafayette, Barbara 
Fontenot Lirette and husband, Donald, of Gibson, and Carol Dominick of Marrero; 
one sister, Thelma Jean Bowen of Carrollton, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-
grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Colonie Marie Thibodeaux Guidry; his 
parents, Paul and Ovelia Thibodeaux Guidry; five brothers, Leonce, Noel, Joseph, 
Walter and Sylvan Guidry; two sisters, Medila Touchet and Louise Lavergne; and 
one son-in-law, Wilson Dominick.

At the outbreak of World War II, Mr. Guidry was farming in rural Acadia Parish. 
In 1942, he moved to Orange, Texas to work as an ironworker in the shipbuilding 
industry. He was employed by American Bridge Co. (a division of U.S. Steel) for 
38 years, retiring in 1980.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Craft; her parents, Leon and 
Eva Landry; her brother, Leroy Landry; and her sister, Alberta Landry.

Known by all who loved her as "Ms. V.", she was born on March 20, 1939 in 
Stephensville. She lived an amazing life. She had a very outgoing personality 
and was a lady in all aspects of the word, always well dressed and never a hair 
out of place. Velma worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 39 years and retired 
as postmaster of the Amelia Post Office. She was also the owner of Ms. V's Feed 
Store in Amelia. 

Velma loved her family dearly and would do anything for them. Ms. V. touched the 
lives of so many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Pallbearers to serve will be Harold Landry, Roger Lee Craft , Anthony "Big A" 
Aleman, Patrick "PJ" Sons Jr., Joshua Aleman and Ronald "Ronnie" Sons.

Chris Anthony Trahan, 42, died Sept. 3, 2010 at the Kingwood Medical Center.

Chris is survived by his wife, Sheri Lee Trahan; his mother, Dorothy B. Trahan; 
his daughters, Lacey Claire Trahan, Heather RenŽe Trahan and stepdaughter, 
Heather Nicole Redyke; his sons, Kenny John Trahan and stepson, Joseph Adam 
Redyke; one grandchild, Riley Cleo Robinson; three sisters: Robin T. Parfait and

He was preceded in death by his father, Allen A. Trahan Sr.; and his

Chris was born July 1, 1968 to Allen and Dorothy Trahan. Growing up, Chris 
wasn't whiskey bent and hell bound. He was a cotton top kid and so mischievous. 
He wanted a variety of pets because he loved animals. Chris was not too fond of 
school, but earned his GED. He always wanted to be with the "big boys" on the 
shrimp boat like his dad and big brother, Tneg, but was mostly in the way.

He married early at the age of 16 and was a hard worker for his family. He 
trawled with his father, but became an excellent pipeline welder. In later 
years, he finally got it all and married his best friend and soul mate and was 
finally complete. Happy and madly in love!

Chris was a great man who always had a smile on his face. He loved riding his 
Harleys, drinking beer, playing pool and golfing. He was a member of the Tour 18 
Country Club and Kingwood Cove Country Club. Chris loved being with his family 
and friends, and always enjoyed Sunday dinner and playing cards. He always 
looked forward to having his annual Crawfish Boil (THE HOST WITH THE MOST), and 
also loved his dogs.

Sheri would like to give a special thanks to David Dacus with Troy Construction 
for giving her baby a place to rest in peace back home with his daddy in 
Louisiana.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sue Walters; one son, Scott Walters and 
wife, Michelle Walters; one daughter, Deena Nobles and husband, Keith; four 
grandchildren, Sean Nobles, Natalie Nobles, Russell Walters and Austin Walters; 
three sisters, Beverly Jo Paul of Leavensworth, Kan., Debra Nobles of 
Hattiesburg, Miss. and Lisa Layton of Denham Springs; and one brother, Mike 
Walters of Petal, Miss.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Hershel Walters; and his mother, 
Willa Mae Purtle Walters and father-in-law, Ivern David Gilbreath.

He was born March 13, 1948. He retired 1st Sergeant 82nd Airborne U.S. Army. He 
was respectfully known as Bro. Harry to most of his friends. He served his 
country in the jungles of Vietnam, and continued his military service in the 
U.S. Army for 21 years before retiring. He then served God on the streets of our 
nation. He was comical, fun loving and very compassionate. He had a wonderful 
marriage and relationship with his wife and children, and was always willing to 
work at the church and homes of those in need. We will all greatly miss him for 
this season separation, but rejoice in knowing that those of us that live in 
Christ Jesus will see him again in the not too distant future.

Emma Claire "Pep" Gouaux St. Martin Morgan, passed away surrounded by her family 
on the morning of Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at the home of her daughter, Claire in 
Prattville, Ala.

Service will be held at 1 p.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

She is survived by one son, Sam Morgan and wife, Pam, of Montgomery, Ala.; three 
daughters, Claire Morgan of Prattville, Ala., Yvette Morgan Simmons and husband, 
Sam, of Winston Salem, N.C., and Anna Morgan Saylor and husband, Phil, of 
Alpharetta, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Emma was born on Jan. 8, 1914, in Houma to Camille Michel St. Martin and Emma 
Claire Marie Gouaux St. Martin. While living in New Orleans, she met Samuel 
Right Morgan Jr., a student of Loyola University and native of Alabama. They 
were married in New Orleans in 1935. Sam and Pep eventually made their home in 
Opelika, Ala. Later she moved to Montgomery, Ala, to be closer to her family.

Pep devoted her life to helping others. As a breast cancer survivor while living 
in Opelika, she started the Reach to Recovery program to educate other victims 
of breast cancer and their families. She received awards of excellence for 
outstanding service while working for many years as head of the Lee County 
Hospital Volunteers and assisting in the Crippled Children's Clinic. When Pep 
was 76 she moved to Atlanta and immediately began working as a volunteer at 
Egleston Children's Hospital. Throughout her many years of volunteer service the 
award she was most proud of receiving was in 1968 when Opelika named her Mother 
of the Year.

Clarence taught school at Berwick Junior High for 23 years. He was an avid gun 
collector and an excellent marksman. Clarence was a very intellectual individual 
who loved to research history and get out of it as much as he could. His family 
and friends enjoyed being around him because he was such a plethora of knowledge

would light up his pipe at home and fill the room with its aroma. Of course, we

11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lolita Rita Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dewey Luke Watkins; her mother, Eva

Louise Collins.

Mrs. Yancey was a facilitator for the National Alliance for the Mentally III 
(NAMI) of Terrebonne for which she worked with great devotion. She was 
instrumental in helping the Start Corporation to build apartments for the 
mentally ill. One of the apartment complexes is named Larke Village, in honor of 
Mrs. Yancey's dedication to this organization. She gave many years of love, 
support and dedication to NAMI of Terrebonne and ADAC of Terrebonne. She devoted 
many years of time and effort to these organizations for the needs of many 
people in Terrebonne Parish. Her husband was the light of her life and her 
children were the joy in her life, and our loving God was always her strength. 
Throughout her life she loved and cared for all whom she met. She was a 
parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral and an avid golfer with the 
Women's Golf Auxiliary at Ellendale; she even won the championship.

The family extends its deepest appreciation to the medical community, The 
Homestead, and the many private caregivers whose compassionate, tender, and 
loving care comforted Mrs. Yancey during her many years of illness.

She was co-founder of Roy Sternfels Insurance Agency where she worked with great 
devotion for 74 years. Also she gave 43 years of love, support and dedication to 
Prevost Ladies Auxiliary. Throughout her life she was an avid card player and 
golfer.

The family extends deepest appreciation to Gwen Calvaruso and the private 
caregivers whose compassionate, tender loving care comforted Mrs. Sternfels 
during her final days.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rogers Boudreaux Sr.; and his aunt, 
Nancy Solito.

He was a CNC Machinist who loved his work and aspired to one day open his own 
machine shop. He was a beloved brother, a dear friend, nurturing father, 
cheerful uncle, and a loving son. His legacy will continue on in the greatness 
achieved by his four beautiful children. There were few things that made him 
cry, but when he did, he did so without shame. His family and his friends were 
the most important things to him, and if he could have done anything for them, 
he would have. In times of hardship, he was a smile that pulled you through. He 
was a laugh that turned your day around. He was a joke at the exact moment the 
day seemed lost. He was fun. He loved. He laughed. He was the loudest scream 
heard over 70,000 screaming Saints fans. He was the life of the party and the 
light of the room, and when he looked you in the eyes, you knew he was being 
sincere. He was tough and soft. He was small and larger than life. He was a 
life-changer.

Chaz, you left us with wounded hearts and a book of memories half-filled. We 
will never forget you and the light you brought into each of our lives. And 
through this time of hardship, we can only rely on the many memories you left us 
with during your short time with us. We love you, Chaz. We love you.

Susan and Terry DarDar.

He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Paul DarDar Sr.; and his brother, 
Deb Gregoire.

Mr. DarDar was born in Houma and a lifelong resident of South Louisiana. He 
spent the majority of his life as a commercial fisherman and working throughout 
the Gulf Region. At 16 Mr. DarDar's father (Man DarDar) helped him purchase his 
first oyster boat where they fished throughout Texas and Louisiana "tying up" to 
eat and count the morning's catch. In recent years he spent many days with his 
good friend Todd Fanguy in their marsh restoration projects throughout Chauvin.

He was a parishioner of St. Joesph and a member of the United Houma Nation.

Anita was born March 8, 1951 in Mexia, Texas to Haskell and Mildred (Bates) 
Gregory. She had an associate degree and worked for 21 years as an 
administrative assistant in the data entry field. Anita's hobbies consisted of 
making jewelry and spending time gardening. She also enjoyed traveling the 
world; she especially loved Venezuela. 

Anita loved spending time with her family. She was a very loving and devoted 
mother, grandmother and sister.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Medeiros of Maui, Hawaii; one son, 
Fred "Lil Junior" Medeiros Jr.; and one daughter, Melinda Medeiros Borne.

He owned and operated Fred's TV Service for many years and was known as "the TV 
man." He enjoyed visiting with people and never seemed to know a stranger. 

He was married to Geraldine Foret for 28 years and had eight children. He later 
married Kathleen Gros, an art teacher at Central Lafourche High School. All 
maintained a wonderful friendship and set a wonderful example before their 
children and grandchildren.

Although he made a multitude of friends throughout the years, there were a few 
who were very special and dear to him. They are: Carl Monnier with Matco 
Services, LLC in Raceland, Leroy Knight with Knight's Exxon Service station in 
Raceland, and Gladys and Gerald Detillier from Mathews.

He spent six years of his childhood in an orphanage in Hawaii and carried with 
him the memories of those less fortunate. Even as his life neared an end he 
voiced compassion about others who were suffering. He will be sadly missed by 
all.

Murphy Albert Gautreaux, 71, a lifetime resident of South Lafourche, died at 
12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010.

Rosary Catholic Church in Larose. Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the

Mr. Gautreaux, "Mr. G." to his thousands of former students, is survived by his 
sister, Bonnie Claire Gautreaux Hutzler; his brother, Terry Lee Joseph 
Gautreaux; two sons, Gwayne Anthony and Grant Gerard Gautreaux; three 
grandchildren, Alexa, Brendon and Gwayne Jr.; one great-grandchild, Kamryn; and 
numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He was married to Lois Lerille Gautreaux, 
who remained a close friend.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maude Savoie Gautreaux; and his father, 
Arthur "Toot" Gautreaux.

Mr. G, a teacher at the Larose Cut Off Middle School for nearly three decades, 
was awarded the Lafourche Community Hero of the Year Award by the Chamber of 
Commerce in 2009 primarily for more than 15 years of volunteer work teaching 
boys and girls of the community the benefits and joy of the game of golf. These 
efforts generated a grant award from the United States Golf Association Youth 
Funding Program, construction of a 3-hole "mini-course" on the school's campus, 
numerous student field trips to the Zurich Classic, and end-of-the-school-year 
tournaments where the winners were invited to the Tideland's Country Club for a 
final championship. In his words, "The idea was to give (the youth) another 
wholesome activity as an option that involves integrity, sportsmanship and 
camaraderie, that could be played alone or with friends for a lifetime." 
Conservatively, Mr. G. fostered golf to over 1,000 boys and girls.

In addition he served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Knights 
of Columbus. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to establish The Murphy 
Gautreaux Memorial College Fund, the mission of which will be to support the 
athletic talents and interests of high school students in the South Lafourche

Virginia "Gina" Macdonald lost a thirteen-month battle with leukemia on 
September 10, 2010 dying at her home in Metairie peacefully in her sleep.

Gina was cremated at the Tharp-Sontheimer Funeral Home in Metairie and there 
will be no memorial service until a later time.

Gina is survived by her husband of 40 years, Andrew; her mother, Lonnie Mae 
Whitten of Austin, Texas; and three sisters, Jeanie Kay, Barbara Ann, and Linda 
Sue, of Central Texas. Her aunt Laura lives in Arlington, Texas. An aunt, Ruth 
Copeland, and cousins Lannie and Anita constitute the Canadian branch of her 
family. Her extended family included scores of students and colleagues who 
benefited from her teaching and mentoring, since Gina could never do enough in 
support of people in need, giving generously of her time and attention. Her 
international students around the world found in her a surrogate parent, someone 
who never withheld help when needed.

Gina was born in Crockett, Texas and lived in Hawaii and the San Francisco Bay 
area during her high school years, as well as in Whidby Island, Wash., 
Chincoteague, Va., Pensacola, Fla., and other locations where her father, Jimmie 
Lee Whitten, a career Navy aviator, was stationed. She was a resident of Texas 
in her college years and of the New Orleans area since 1980.

Gina held a Ph.D. in English from the University of Texas at Austin, and taught 
in the Loyola University New Orleans English department from 1980 until 1985 and 
then in the Loyola Intensive English program until 1992. She then worked as an 
assistant and associate professor at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux 
before being promoted to professor in 2009. She retired from Nicholls in 2010 
because of her illness.

Gina was the author of nine scholarly books on widely diverse topics and several 
book-length collections of academic essays, as well as hundreds of articles, 
encyclopedia entries and other short pieces. She completed her last book, on 
Scottish mystery writer E.X. Ferrars, while undergoing chemotherapy at Tulane 
Hospital where she received excellent care in the Bone Marrow Ward. She 
continued her scholarly writing even while undergoing outpatient treatment at 
the Tulane Cancer Center, whose doctors and staff she valued highly.

Perhaps as a consequence of her childhood postings with her military family, 
Gina was an inveterate traveler, spending months in Mexico (she was bilingual in 
Spanish) and England, as well as making trips to France, Belgium, Germany, Costa 
Rica, and Russia for multiple visits. Perhaps her favorite place was Vancouver 
Island, British Columbia, where she would visit family members and enjoy the 
unspoiled nature of the area and its dramatic geology. Gina also found spiritual 
contentment in the American West and Pacific Northwest, particularly in the 
state and national parks, where her photography was remarkable for a non-
professional.

An animal lover and protector all her life, Gina could never refuse aid and 
comfort to any creature in need, a mark of her kind and giving nature.

Her wish was that rather than flowers, donations be made to the Louisiana SPCA.

Anna Mae Fourcade Thouron Caillouet, 76, a native of New Orleans and a resident 
of Metairie since 1965, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 after a brief illness 
following surgery.

Relatives and friends of the family celebrated her life during a Funeral Mass at 
noon Sept. 14 at St. Benilde Church, 1901 Division St. (near W. Napoleon) in 
Metairie, with interment in St. Patrick Cemetery No. 3.

She was the beloved mother of Michael J. Thouron Caillouet and Lawrence G. 
Thouron Caillouet.

She was the daughter of the late Lena B. and Gervais L. Fourcade; and wife of 
the late Louis J. Thouron, by first marriage and the late Lawrence J. "Tam" 
Caillouet, by second marriage.

Anna Mae was a 1947 Mater Dolorosa School graduate and 1951 Dominican High 
School graduate. She was also a longtime parishioner of St. Benilde Parish and a 
member of the Rummel Old Timers Club.

Alton P. Danos, 75, a native of Larose and a resident of Galliano, died Monday, 
Sept. 27, 2010.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at 
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at 
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by one son, Renia P. Danos and wife, Tracy Lafont Danos; one 
daughter, Anita D. Duet and husband, Tony Paul Duet; one brother, Leroy Jean 
Danos; three grandchildren, Caroline Danos, Tate Duet and Alycia Duet; and his 
companion, Gloria LaBiche.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Vizier Danos; his parents, Urbin 
and Marie Rogers Danos; one daughter, Barbara Jean Danos; eight brothers, 
Antoine Danos, Junice Danos, Eunice Danos, Gillis Danos, George Danos, Eroy 
Danos, Herman Danos and Gilton Danos; and three sisters, Dorothy D. Chouest, 
Leoncia D. Breaux and Leonia Danos.

He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was an oysterman for 25 
years. He enjoyed building pirogues, fixing lawn mowers and gardening.

Thanks to his loving and caring companion Gloria LaBiche. She was always by his 
side for 15 years. Thanks also to Joanne, Angie, Rob, Davet, Trisha and Janita. 
He took all of you as his family!

Lorraine Cecile Arcement Gros, 77, a native and resident of Labadieville, died 
Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010.

She is survived by four sons, Francis Gros Jr. and his wife, Thomas Gros, Johnny 
Gros and his wife, Annie, Kevin Gros and his wife, Melissa; one daughter, Elaine 
Gros and companion, Paul Foret; her former daughter-in-law, Melonia Gros; seven 
grandchildren, Rachel Gros, Ashley Gros Rogis, Crystal, Charles "C.J.", Faith, 
Brandy, and Kevin Gros Jr.; three step-grandchildren, Julia, William, and 
Amberly Forristal; one sister, Loretta Gros and husband, Edward; and her beloved 
pets, M.J., Brownie and Bell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Gros Sr.; her parents, Charles 
Arcement and Melanie Barrilleaux Arcement; and one brother, Aaron Arcement.

Claire Lagarde Hebert, 101, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died at 3:15 
p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2010.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Joseph Co-
Cathedral in Thibodaux.

Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church 
cemetery.

She is survived by one son, Norman J. Hebert and wife, Jean; three daughters, 
Theresa H. Adams and husband, Harris, Rita H. Dickie and husband, George, and 
Mary H. "Minnie" Lee; seven grandchildren, N.J. Hebert Jr., Mary Beth Hebert, 
Angela Rodrigue, Michael Hebert, Nicholas "Nicky" Hebert, Mark "Marco" Bourgeois 
and Harry Boyer Jr.; 15 great-grandchildren, Kristy, Justin, and Dylan Hebert, 
Heidi Rodrigue, Alyssa, Taylor, Brody, Bryce, and Brock Hebert; Laban, Emily, 
Caleb, and Simon Bourgeois, and Nicole and Brittney Boyer; and one great-great-
grandchild, Ana Albarado.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Junius E. Hebert; her parents, Klebert 
Lagarde and Helen Breaux Lagarde; one daughter, Mary Ann H. Bourgeois; five 
brothers, Jules, Raoul, Edwin, J.T. "Pete", and Hector "Blake" Lagarde; one 
sister, Josephine "Beb" Lagarde; and two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Celeste 
Bourgeois.

Miss Claire died one week before her 102nd birthday. Her father died one week 
before his 101st birthday.

godmother, Venita Chauvin and husband, David; and cousins, Hunter Whitney, 
Bryan, Jason and Eric Hitt

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald and Janet Hitt and Odelia 
Meaux; her godfather, Teddy Meaux; and one cousin, Jeremy Whitney.

Megan was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral and a senior at 
Vandebilt Catholic High School. She loved sports and spending time with her 
friends.

He is survived by his parents, Desire Dehart Jr. and Heidi Brown; his maternal 
grandparents, Keith Brown Sr. and Sandra Brunet; his paternal grandparents, 
Desire Dehart Sr. and Melinda Courteaux; and his godmother, Deborah Martin.

He was preceded in death by his uncle and godfather, Keith Brown Jr.

Gilbert "Big G" Johnson, 82, a native of Napoleonville and a resident of Gretna, 
died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4:30 p.m. today at Williams and Southall Funeral 
Home of Napoleonville and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Benedict the 
Moor Catholic Church in Napoleonville. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at 
the church officiated by the Rev. John Osom. Burial will be in the church 
cemetery with full military honors by the U.S. Airforce.

He is survived by his wife, Florence B. Johnson of Gretna; one daughter, Elise 
H. Johnson of Gretna; two adopted daughters, Royce and Tammy Smith of Denver; 
one adopted son, Troy Smith of Algiers; three sisters, Gloria and husband, 
Lawrence Jamison of Bertrandville, Gerline Stemley of Atlanta, and Gladys Ewing 
of New Orleans; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, 
nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Teshia Butler; his father, John Johnson; 
his stepfather, Willie Butler; two brothers; and two sisters.

He was a retired World War II, Korean and Vietnam War veteran and a retired U.S. 
Postal worker.

Dr. Rebecca Sue Tabony, 48, died suddenly on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at West 
Jefferson Hospital in Marrero.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral on 
Canal Blvd. in Thibodaux. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at the church.

She was the beloved sister of Michael and wife, Betty, Gary, August and wife, 
Diane, Doug and wife, Margaret, Nikki, Sally Scioneaux, and Loni and husband, 
Tom Jarman; 12 nieces and nephews; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Yolonda Loga Tabony and Robert Lee 
Tabony.

"Becky" attended Promised Land Academy, Oneida Baptist Institute, Nicholls State 
University and University of Georgia. She worked for Conoco Oil Company for many 
years before receiving her PhD and beginning her career of counseling. She 
worked for Texas A&M, Tarleton State University, University of North Carolina, 
University of Kentucky and the State of Louisiana. She was currently working for 
Jefferson Parish counseling on Grand Isle.

Nathan Scott Trepagnier, 19, of Metairie, was called home by the Lord on 
Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, as a result of injuries sustained in a hayride 
accident in Thibodaux.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 
Veterans Memorial Blvd., in Metairie and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at 
Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 3368 Esplanade Ave., in New Orleans 70119. The 
funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with interment at Lake 
Lawn Park Mausoleum.

Nathan is survived by his parents, Wilfred and Rosemary Trepagnier; his brother, 
Wilfred "Walt" A. Trepagnier III; his grandmother, Priscilla Pendzimaz; and 
numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wilfred A. Sr. and 
Lorraine Trepagnier; and his maternal grandfather, Edward Pendzimaz.

Nathan was born Feb. 4, 1991, to Wilfred A. Jr. and Rosemary (Pendzimaz) 
Trepagnier in New Orleans. He attended St. Angela Merici, Ecole Classique, and 
Holy Rosary Academy. Nathan was the valedictorian of the 2009 graduating class 
of Holy Rosary High School, where he won numerous academic, service, and 
religious awards including the Student of the Year award. Nathan then attended 
Nicholls State University, where he sought a major in history. His dream was to 
go to law school and enter politics. Nathan joined the Kappa Alpha Order and 
served as treasurer. He was also an active member of the Barony of Axemoor in 
the Society for Creative Anachronism.

Nathan was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of St. Angela Merici and Our 
Lady of the Rosary parishes. He was an altar server at Our Lady of the Rosary. 
He also served several masses at St. Louis Cathedral.

Scholarship Fund at Holy Rosary Academy and High School, 3368 Esplanade Ave., 
New Orleans, LA 70119.
