Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2013/f1301.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Rhonda Faye Lucas Bridier, 56, a native of Chickasaw, Ala., and a resident of Thibodaux, passed away at home at 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, due to breast cancer. Rhonda was cremated and a memorial celebrating her life will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lafourche Crossing 308 Fire Station, 691 Highway 308 in Thibodaux. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Gary Bridier; sons, Alan Bridier, wife, Lauren and granddaughter, Stella, of Baton Rouge, and Jonathan Bridier of Thibodaux; her parents, Donald E. and Juanita Lucas of Chickasaw; sisters, Diane Howell and husband, Doug, of Jasper, Ala., Sharon Lorino and companion, Ty Lane, of Mobile, Ala., and Ramona Griffin and husband, Charlie, of Birmingham, Ala.; brothers, Donald K. Lucas and wife, Margo, of Butler, Ala., and Roger Lucas of Chickasaw, Ala.; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Brandon Queen, Alice Blanchard and Elaine von Almen. Rhonda was blueberry farmer and florist in addition to being a homemaker and volunteer Boy Scout Leader for over 20 years in the Thibodaux area. She received the Silver Beaver Award from the Southeast Council of the Boy Scouts of America for her work at the district and council level. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their kindness and patience in helping to keep Rhonda comfortable in the last few days of her life on this earth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the various charities she supported or to any charity. The charities Rhonda supported are: St. Joseph Hospice Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure or the Southeast Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Rhonda was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Thibodaux. Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ======================
