Charles Preston Butcher Jr., 85, a native and resident of Houma, died Saturday, 
Jan. 5, 2013.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at St. Francis de 
Sales Cathedral. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the 
church, with 

burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

He is survived by his wife, Antoinette L. Hutchinson Butcher; son, Bryan 
Butcher and wife, Lisa; daughters, Beth Swilley and husband, Michael, Bridgette 
Butcher and Belinda Kerr and husband, Michael; six grandchildren; five great-
grandchildren; and a sister, Louisa Lirette,

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Butcher Sr. and Philomene 
Guichet Butcher.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
