Gertie Brunet Collins, 89, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 10:40 a.m. Thursday at 
Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 
at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with 

burial at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

She is survived by her son, Vendon Collins Jr. and wife, Emma; daughters, 
Beverly St. Pierre and husband, P.J., Barbara Angelette and husband, Bobby, and 
Susan Cheramie; grandchildren, Pam Collins Griffin, Michelle Collins Chouest, 
Dawn Collins Auenson, Destry St. Pierre, Scott St. Pierre, Neil Angelette, 
Mignon Angelette Gill, Domonique Angelette Pitre, Gage Cheramie and Trey 
Cheramie; 22 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and brother, 
Sostine Brunet.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vendon Collins Sr., granddaughter, 
Chelsie Cheramie Carson; parents, Armand and Cereze Brunet; eight sisters; and 
three brothers.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she served as Minister of 
Eucharist and member of The Followers of Mary, Ladies Alter Society and choir.

She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She devoted her life to helping family and friends.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
