Richard J. "Jay" Doucet Sr., 78, a native of Galliano and a resident of Larose, 
passed away Thursday Jan. 10, 2013.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Our Lady of the 
Rosary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Monday at 
the church, 

with burial in Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Nevitte Pitre Doucet; sons, Glenn Doucet and wife, 
Eva, Richard Doucet Jr. and wife, Robin, Patrick Doucet and wife, Nesie, and 
Derek Doucet and wife, Samantha; daughters, Rachel D. Bourg and Phyllis D. 
Foret and companion, Andy Boyke; sisters, Nora Guidry and Janice Doucet; 
grandchildren, Pam King, Justin Doucet, Leslie Bourg, Bryce Bourg, Bink Foret, 
Michelle LeBlanc, Kacie Doucet, Meghan Doucet, Richard Doucet, Tyler Doucet, 
Lindsey Doucet, Latesha Badeaux and Donovan Doucet; and great-grandchildren, 
Jacob Northern, A.J. Ruthledge, Brennan Bourg, Bryant Bourg, Emily Bourg, Logan 
Bourg, Lauren Bourg, Troy Pitre, Isbella Foret, Paul Foret, Peyton Loupe, Bella 
Badeaux, Izra Badeaux and T-Don Doucet.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Octave and Letitia Guidry Doucet; 
brother, Norman Doucet; sister, Sally Barrios; and sons-in-law, Leslie Bourg 
Sr. and Brian Foret.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
