Abbie John Duplantis Jr., 70, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Houma, 
died at 8:13 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Visitation 
will also be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at the funeral home. 

Liturgy of the Word will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with 

burial in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Adams Duplantis of Houma; son, Terry Paul 
Duplantis and wife, Rebecca Guidry Duplantis of Houma; sister, Winnie Neal of 
Houma; and grandchildren, Christopher Michael Duplantis and fiancée, Lasey 
Rink.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abbie Duplantis Sr. and Lilia Henry 
Duplantis; and one brother, Harvey Duplantis.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
He loved fishing, swimming and watching John Wayne movies.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
