Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2013/f1301.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Lucille Vickers Harris born Feb. 25, 1927 in Vicksburg, Miss., and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 at the age of 85. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until funeral time today at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at noon today at the funeral home, with burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park Cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jasper Edd "Jay" "J.E." Harris; one daughter, Kim Katrina Harris Denicola and husband, David; six grandsons, Justin W. Pauler and wife, Debbie, of St. Amant, Jonathan E. Pauler and wife, Heather, of Norfolk, Va., John E. Hernandez of Texas, Jay Hernandez of Texas, Nicholas D. Denicola of Baton Rouge, and Matthew M. Denicola of Baton Rouge; and two granddaughters, Jennifer B. Hernandez of Texas, and Megan M. Denicola of Baton Rouge; four great-grandchildren Maeleigh Jane Pauler of St. Amant, Charlie Pauler of St. Amant, Roxanne B. Pauler of Norfolk, Va., and Samantha Pauler of Norfolk, Va.; one sister, Mary Francis Howerton of Demopolis, Ala.; one niece, Gloria Jean Taggart and husband, Burt, of Little Rock, Ark.; and other numerous family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna Grauer Vickers of Greenville, Miss.; two sons, Lynn Peter Hernandez of Vicksburg, Miss., and Johnny Lynn Hernandez of LaGrange, Texas, formally of Houma; three brothers, Buster Vickers of Greenville, Miss., Elmer Vickers of Greenville, Miss., and Emery Vickers of Texas; and two sisters, Johnnie Vickers Johnson of Greenville, Miss., and Myrtle Vickers Goodin of Arlington, Texas. She was a long time resident of Houma where she and her husband owned two businesses, Circle K Western Wear and Jay's Electrical Contractors. She square- danced and was in Eastern Star. She enjoyed growing African violets and crocheting, and loved her family and friends. A special thank you to all the nursing and care staff at Ollie Steele Burden Manor, the nurses and doctors at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital and those at St. Joseph's Hospice.
