He is a native and resident of Thibodaux. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Thibodaux Family Church in Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. at the church, with burial in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Gray. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Rodriguez Hawkes; daughter, Jessica Griffin and husband, Kevin; sons, James and wife, Ginna, Aaron and wife, Hannah, and Zachary Hawkes; grandchildren, Joshua and Emily Griffin, Elizabeth and Mayson Hawkes; father, Joe G. Hawkes; twin brother, Terry Hawkes and wife, Alison; brother, Butch Hawkes and wife, Rita; godchild, Chad Hawkes; sisters, JoAnn Benoit, Evelyn Kelle, and Yvonne Perk; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Mae Hawkes; and brother, Charles Kelle. Jerry was a faith-filled man and loved the Lord and his family with all of his heart. Everyone that knew Jerry felt the love of Jesus. Jerry's greatest goal in life was to bring God the glory. He was an avid hunter and sports fan. Most of all, he was the greatest husband, dad and "Papa" to a family that cherished him. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ======================
