James "J.J." Johnston, 53, a native and resident of Houma, died Monday, Jan. 
14, 2013.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Samart Funeral 
Home in Houma. Military Services will be at 11:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral 
home. A memorial service will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Loupe Johnston; daughter, Angel Orgeron; 
granddaughter, India; brothers, Wayne White, Gary Johnston and wife, Marilyn, 
Larry Viola, and Johnny Johnston and wife, Mary; sisters, Florance Wayne, 
Patricia Lapunte and husband, Eddie, Susan Primack and Jennie Litloff and 
husband, Ed; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Hilda Bourg Johnston; and a 
brother, William Johnston.

He drove 18-wheelers cross-country and was a U.S. Army veteran.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to help with 
funeral expenses.

Samart Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
