Carl James LeCompte Sr., 83, a native of Bourg and a resident of Nederland, 
Texas, died Friday Jan. 4, 201,3 at his home surrounded by loved ones.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Saltman and husband, Conrad, of 
Groves, Texas, and Pamela Bonvillian and husband, James, of Lake Charles; his 
son Carl James LeCompte Jr. and wife, Paula, of St. Simons Island, Ga.; sisters 
Helen Breaux of Houma and Winona Kerr and husband, James, of Houma; 13 
grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lelia LeCompte; his wife, 
Betty Hebert LeCompte; his daughter, Mary Jo LeCompte; and his brother, Kermit 
LeCompte.

He was retired and loved to fish with his best friend of many years, Harold 
Dean.

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.

Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas, is in charge of arrangements.
