Douglas "Turkey" Thomas LeCompte, 71, died at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 
at his home surrounded by his family. 
He was a native of Orange, Texas, and a resident of Houma.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Visitation 
will also be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Bernadette 
Soubirous Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. 
Saturday at the church.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Myrna Vice LeCompte; children, Gary 
LeCompte, Francine Jeblonski and Stacy LeCompte; and three grandchildren, Brad 
LeCompte, Sarah Jeblonski and Sadie Jeblonski.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton LeCompte and Edith Labat 
LeCompte; and a brother, Gil Richard LeCompte.

He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church.
He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army National 
Guard. He was a supervisor of materials and tools at the time he retired from 
Shell Oil Company where he was employed for more than 30 years.

He enjoyed playing golf, woodworking and camping. He loved LSU and Saints 
football. He also loved spending time with his family and taking care of his 
children.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
