Earnest John Matherne, 64, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Houma, 
died at 7:40 a.m., Monday, Jan. 21, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by his brothers, Floyd, Gary, Anthony, Kenneth, Phillip and 
Thomas Matherne, all of Houma; and sisters, Mary Ellen Matherne McKee of Houma, 
Nancy Matherne LeBouef of Houma, Margaret Matherne Yerena of Houma, and Suzzane 
Matherne Kitchens of Patterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alban Joseph Matherne and Marie Una 
Rousseau Matherne.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
