Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Visitation will also be from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Monday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial to be held at a later date. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Vedrenne Ruckstuhl of Houma; daughters, Elizabeth Louise Ruckstuhl of Houma, Catherine Ruckstuhl Craig and husband, Kendall, of Houma, and Cynthia Ruckstuhl Ferjani and husband, Mohsen, of Columbia, S.C.; sons, Lionel Edward Ruckstuhl Jr. and wife, Carolyn, of Reno, Nev., and David Joseph Ruckstuhl of Gainseville, Fla.; grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Ruckstuhl, Michael Brendon Ruckstuhl, Malcolm William Zabaneh Jr. and wife, Naomi, Christopher Michael Zabaneh and Richard Austin Zabaneh, Layla Ferjani, Amira Ferjani, Selma Ferjani, Nadia Ferjani, Lionel E. Ruckstuhl III, Alice Clare Ruckstuhl, Lily Isabella Ruckstuhl and Ruby Clemetine Ruckstuhl; step-grandchildren, Kyle Alexander Craig and Jordan Craig; great-grandchild, Kaden Zabaneh; a sister, Etheldreda Ruckstuhl Ingraham of New Orleans; and a brother, Edward Jacob Ruckstuhl of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lionel H. Ruckstuhl and Vera Metzinger Ruckstuhl; a sister, Marilyn Ruckstuhl Holmes; grandchild, Sheehan Dominic Ruckstuhl; and a brother-in-law, Frederick Ingraham. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. He retired from the oilfield industry. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed working in his yard, cooking, working on cars, watching NASCAR and was an avid hunter. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
