She was a native of Bogalusa and a resident of Denham Springs. She is survived by her children, Linda Hendricks of Denham Springs, Dianne Williams and husband, Reuben, of Houma and Bill Stracener of Baton Rouge; her siblings, Anna Lou Ryland, of Loomis, Calif., Mary Lou Towns and husband, Ferris, of West Monroe, Janette Taunton of Farmerville, and Edwin Blackwell and wife, Annie Joe, of Baton Rouge; her grandchildren, Todd Coates and wife, Valerie, Jarred Coates, Allison Bungard and husband, David, and Jennifer Zabierek and husband, Peter; and great-grandchildren, Ireland, Gabriel, and Garrett Coates, Claire and Caroline Coates, Andrew Bungard and Henry and Ben Zabierek. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Neal Stracener, her parents, Murphy and Edna Blackwell, and her brother, Murphy Blackwell Jr. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until noon Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Denham Springs with a memorial service at noon on Wednesday. Ruth was a child of God and brought love and sunshine to her family and friends. She was a longtime secretary of First Baptist Church in Many and was also the secretary at Highland Park Baptist Church in Monroe. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Denham Springs and a longtime member of Gideon's International Auxiliary. In lieu of flowers, Ruth requested donations to Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28201. ======================
