Murphy Joseph Bourg, 83, a native and resident of Houma, died Monday, Feb. 11, 
2013.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Our Lady of the 
Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. 
Friday at the church, 

with burial in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hilda Marie Domangue Bourg of Houma; 
sons, Sterling Joseph Bourg and wife, Granada, of Houma, and Jody Edward Bourg 
of Houma; daughters, Nelda Theresa Lapeyrouse and husband, Willard, and Bessie 
Ann Burton and husband, James "Jimmy" Jr.; grandchildren, Todd Michael 
Lapeyrouse and wife, Michelle, of Houma, Shadie-Lee Marie Ragas and husband, 
Chad, of Cypress, Texas, Bradley James Bourg of Houma, Dr. Allison Michelle 
Burton and husband Christopher Chase, of Houston, Texas, Beau James Burton and 
wife, Amy, of Houma, Kellie Ann Paddy and husband, Kevin, of Rosepine, Kipp 
Jude Lapeyrouse and wife, Hollie, of Gheens, Sadie Clair Bourg of Houma, Tyler 
John Burton of Houma, and Hannah Marie Bourg of Houma; great-grandchildren, 
Michael Luke Lapeyrouse of Houma, Brian Anthony Lapeyrouse of Houma, Daleyane 
Renee Ragas, Chance Arthur Ragas, Chase Joseph Ragas, all of Cypress, Texas, 
Kade Patrick Paddy, Kollin Reed Paddy, Kase Ryan Paddy all of Rosepine, Ethan 
Mark LeBoeuf of Gheens, Jean' Beau Burton and two on the way; sister, Rosella 
Bourg Thibodaux of Houma; and brother, Donald Bourg and wife, Kathleen, of 
Houma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lanson Bourg and Eva Hebert Bourg; 
son, Reginald James Bourg; sister, Ismay Bourg Lapeyrouse and husband, Dewey; 
and brother-in-law, Evans "Tibby" Thibodeaux.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
He was well known for his counter top and flooring work he did for over 50 
years.

He was a man of many stories and his grandchildren always looked up to him.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
