Herman "Poochie" Carter Jr., 57, a native of Chauvin and resident of Houma, 
died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Dularge Community 
Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, 

with burial in Southdown Cemetery.

He is survived by his brothers, Raymond (Bessie) Ross Sr. of Gray, and Ernest 
Ross of Baton Rouge; and sisters, Rosie Mae Ross of Chauvin, and Ernestine Ross 
Lewis of Houma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Carter Sr. and Pearl Ross; 
brothers, Percy, James, Allen, Clifton, Sterling, David and Ronald Ross; and 
sisters, Edna Mae Ross, Fannie Mae Parker and Alice Mae Ross.

Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
