Donald "Bason" Cheramie Sr., 71, a native of New Orleans and resident of Cut 
Off, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Falgout Funeral 
Home in Galliano. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. 
Joseph Catholic Church, 

with burial in Cheramie Cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy D. Cheramie; children, Donald Cheramie 
Jr., Lisa Cheramie, and Dawn Rockwell and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Teka 
Lafont, Heather Billiot, Jovi Billiot, and Michael Rockwell Jr.; great-
grandchildren, Madison Billiot and Kourtney Lafont; and brothers, Ronald and 
Alan Cheramie.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Geraldine P. Cheramie; and 
his father, Alidor Cheramie.

He loved to fish, hunt, trawl and go to the casino. He was a member of the 
Men's Auxiliary.

Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano is in charge of arrangements.
