Maria Giammancheri, 81, a native of Palermo, Sicily and resident of Thibodaux, 
died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Thibodaux Funeral Home. 
Visitation will also be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at St. Joseph 
Co-Cathedral. A. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the 
church, 

with burial in St. Joseph Co-Cathedral cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Antonino Giammancheri; children, 
Sal Giammancheri, Tina Giammancheri, Anna Baradell and Joseph Giammancheri and 
wife, Michelle Giammancheri; brother, Pino Contorno; sister, Paola Mirabile; 
grandchildren, Jon Miller, Casie Keyes, Blake Giammancheri, Tamara Baradell, 
Joshua Giammancheri, Martine Washington, Cameron Campbell, Guiseppe 
Giammancheri Jr., Ashley Giammancheri and Aleeyah Giammancheri; three great-
grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren, Laura and Erika.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvatore Contorno and Gaetana 
Contorno; brothers, Salvatore, Vincent and Gino Contorno; sisters, Rosa Shanna 
and Ninetta Farace; and son-in-law, Bruce Baradell.

The family would like to thank Journey Hospice for the care that they gave.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
