She was born Jan. 22, 1928, in Pampa, Texas to Wardie and Eunice Beddingfield Maddox. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home in Langley, Okla. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Langley, Okla., with pastors Joel Rutherford and Lewis Bunch officiating, with burial in Ketchum Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Evan A. Jones Jr.; three children, Michael Jones and wife, Gayla, of Tucson, Ariz., Steven Jones and wife, Susan, of Disney, Okla., and David Jones and wife, Lynn, of South Orange, N.J.; seven grandchildren, Lesa Lynch, Jennifer Jones, Jessica Benavides, Taylor Jones, Andrew Jones, Ashley Parrish and Laura Holden; numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Vernon Maddox. Dorothy was united in marriage to Evan A. Jones Jr. on Dec. 25, 1946, in Pampa, Texas. They lived in Pampa, Ponca City, Okla., Houma, and lastly in Langley, Okla. Dorothy was a sales representative for over 25 years for Avon. She also had worked as a lunch lady at the school cafeteria, but above all she was a mother, wife and keeper of the home. Dorothy was a member of the Baker Church of Christ near Ketchum. She was formerly active in the PTA and a den mother for Cub Scouts. Dorothy was active in the Ala-non and Ala-teen programs, was active in the Friends of the Langley Library and an avid Bunko player. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Langley Library, P.O. Box 655, Langley, Okla. 74350.
