Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home. Visitation will also be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Eunice Martin King of Houma; sons, Earl King Jr. and wife, Linda, of Morgan City, and Joel King and wife, Heidi, of Thibodaux; three stepdaughters, Charlotte Clampitt and husband, Glyn, of Niceville, Fla., Janet Moore and husband, Speedy Moore, of Baton Rouge, and Peggy Guidry and husband, Duane, of Houma; grandchildren, Earl P. King III, Sharla Gallagher, Darla White, William King, Joel King Jr. and Angela Fremin; five step- grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Gordon King of Lafayette; and sister, Mattie Smith of Houma. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Hoffman and Nettie King; and numerous brothers and sisters. He was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church and was the co-owner of King Trucking in addition to other businesses. He served a term on the State Mineral Board and was a decorated U.S. Army veteran in World War II in the European Theater. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ======================
