Ray William Marcel, 82, was called to his eternal resting place Wednesday, Feb. 
27, 2013. He was a native of Houma and resident of Schriever. He was born June 
20, 1930.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Bridget 
Catholic Church in Schriever. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. 
Saturday at the church, 

with burial in St. Bridget Catholic Church cemetery in Schriever.

He is survived by his children, Dean J. Marcel and wife, Sharlene K. Marcel, 
Peggy M. Pitre and husband, Kenneth P. Pitre, Janet M. Marcel and Gary P. 
Marcel; grandchildren, Christie P. Foret and husband, Michael Foret Jr., Kelsi 
Marcel Mason and husband, Lindsay R. Mason, Matthew A. Marcel and fiancée, 
Rhiannon Walsh, Mandy E. Pitre and fiancé, Lane M. Oncale, and Devin P. Marcel; 
and great-grandchild, Carter W. Mason.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Monnier Marcel; and parents, 
William J. Marcel and Winnie Sevin Marcel.

He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
