Floyd Joseph Samanie, 81, a native and resident of Houma, died at 1:15 a.m. 
Saturday Feb. 16, 2013.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral 
Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with 

burial in St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his son, Tony Samanie and wife, Becky, of Houma; daughters, 
Gwynn Bourg and husband, Nathan, of Houma, and Lynn Boureaux and husband, 
Junius, of Thibodaux; grandchildren, Keith Bourg, Corey Boudreaux, Tara Jones, 
Marci Boudreaux, Todd Boudreaux and Tori Samanie; and great-grandchildren, 
Erica Bourg, Ethan Boudreaux, Nicholas Bourg, Andrew Bourg, Taylor Boudreaux 
and Lalah Boudreaux.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Samanie; parents, Ivy Paul 
Samanie Sr. and Angele Hebert Samanie; brothers, Ivy Samanie Jr., Lionel 
Samanie, Julius Samanie Sr., Emile "Bill" Samanie and Ray Samanie; sisters, 
Irene Samanie, Hilda Carroll, Vivian Breaux and Cleon Morgan.

He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply 
missed by his family and friends.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
