Essie Hampton Williams, 76, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died at 4:06 
p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at St. Paul Baptist 
Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, 

with burial in St. Paul Baptist Church cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Barry Keith Williams and Gary Michael Williams, 
both of Thibodaux; brothers, Wilbert Hampton of Harvey, and Thomas Hampton of 
Thibodaux; sisters, Thelma Leonard of New Orleans, Audrey Johnson, Vera 
Washington, Cora Hampton and Leola Campbell, all of Thibodaux; four 
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Williams Jr.; parents, 
Mitchell H. Jr. and Leotha Thomas Hampton; and brothers, Mitchell Harry Hampton 
III and Norman Earl Hampton Sr.

Kennedy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
