Berwick "Bervick" Cheramie Sr., 77, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of 
Raceland, died at 12:39 a.m Friday, March 8, 2013.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Samart-Mothe Funeral in Cut Off 
and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic 
Church in Golden Meadow. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday 
at the church, 

with burial in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

He is survived by his sons, Leo "L.J." Lopez Sr., Berwick "Popeye" Cheramie Jr. 
and wife, Rhonda Guidry Cheramie, and David Cheramie; daughters, Sue Lopez 
Garcia, Sandy Cheramie and Annette Cheramie; brothers, Ozema Cheramie, Alcide 
"Sonny" Cheramie Jr., Viann Danos, Victoria Johnfroe and Deeann Cheramie; 11 
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alcide and Edele Gaudet Cheramie; 
brothers, Marcel, Bernice, Lindberg and Penelton Cheramie; an infant brother; 
and sister, Alcidee Verdin, Alcida Brunet, Evada Cheramie and Bessie Savoie.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
