Ulysis J. Duplessis, 91,a native of New Orleans and resident of Schriever, was 
born on April 3, 1921, and passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Landry's Funeral Home in 
Thibodaux and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday at St. Bridget Catholic 
Church in Schriever. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at 
the church, 

with burial in St. Bridget Catholic Church cemetery in Schriever.

He is survived by his son, Philip Duplessis; daughters, Shelia DeSantis and 
husband, Gary, and Jean Hoppe and husband, Pete; four grandchildren; and six 
great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Guidry Duplessis; parents, Angelo 
Duplessis and Sarah Lightel Duplessis; brothers, Joseph, Charlie and Zip 
Duplessis; sisters, Angelina Duplessis and baby girl Duplessis; and one 
grandchild.

He was a parishioner of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Schriever.

Many thanks to the staff of Audubon Health and Rehab in Thibodaux. They grew to 
appreciate his "character" and became his family. Much gratitude and 
appreciation to the staff for theirs is a very special calling.
Special thanks goes to Lynn, who was Ulysis's guardian angel, for the years he 
was there daily with Edna, and then as a resident for the last four years.
Thanks also goes to St. Catherine's Hospice. Their services were short lived 
but very much appreciated.

Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
