Fulkerson, 61, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne with the Rev. Clint Trahan, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morse, officiating for the services with the Rev. Kendell Faulk, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, concelebrating. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley. He is survived by his fiancée, Sheryl Deshotel, of Church Point; one sister, Flo F. Faulk and husband, Mike, of Crowley; one brother, Charles Robert "Chuck" Fulkerson and wife, Carol, of Lafayette; two stepchildren, Megan Barousse and husband, Koby, of Church Point, and Chris Deshotel and wife, Allison, of Opelousas; six grandchildren, Aidan, Bella, and Eli Barousse, and Jacob, Layla and Luke Deshotel; one niece, Amy Catherine Fulkerson; four nephews, Samuel Robert Fulkerson, J.W. Faulk, William Faulk and Michael Faulk; and his special companions, Buffy and Zoey, his adorable dogs. Mr. Fulkerson is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Billie Cleveland Fulkerson. Pallbearers will be Sam Fulkerson, Chris Deshotel, Koby Barousse, J.W. Faulk, William Faulk and Michael Faulk. Honorary pallbearer will be Charles "Dago" Redlich and Dr. Craig Brammer. J.W. graduated from Crowley High School in 1969. He was all-state pole vaulter and went on to pole vault in college at Northwestern University in Natchitoches where he graduated in 1972 with a degree in advertising/public relations. He was currently working as a real estate agent with Sam Robertson Realty in Lafayette. Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley is in charge of arrangements. ======================
