Henry Joseph Hidalgo Sr., a native of Plaquemine and resident of Brusly, passed 
away at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at his home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Wilbert Funeral Home in 
Plaquemine. 

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Philomena Church Cemetery 
in Labadieville.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Talbot Hidalgo of Brusly; sons and spouses, 
Henry and Gina Palermo Hidalgo Jr. of Addis, and Johnnie and Chance Rivera 
Hidalgo of Gonzales; granddaughters, Margaret Ann and Alyssa Marie of Addis; 
in-laws, Phyllis Talbot of Brusly, Ret. Chief Warrant Officer, Louis Talbot and 
financée, Clararita Castro, of Kingstowne, Va., and Carolyn Talbot Benoit and 
Randy of Thibodaux; nephew, Jessie Benoit of New Orleans; siblings and spouse, 
Evelyn Palazzo of Walker, Bernadette Millien of Donaldsonville, Theresa Lopez 
of Addis, Floyd Hidalgo Sr. of Livonia, and Irene and Wesley Johnson of 
Plaquemine; special aunt, Mary Landry of Baton Rouge; and numerous nephews and 
nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Irene Landry Hidalgo; son, 
Anthony Hidalgo; step-grandson, Trent Austin Morgan; grandparents, Antoine and 
Bernadette Acosta Hidalgo and Alex and Eveline Callegan Landry; siblings and 
spouse, Rita and E. J. Leblanc, Charles and Olivia Messina Hidalgo Sr. and kids 
Charla and Charles Jr.; in-laws, Lelia Hidalgo, Joe Palazzo Sr., Arthur Millien 
and Louise DeGraw Talbot.

He was a retired Local 53 insulator and U.S. Army veteran.

family and friends, the staff of Hospice of Baton Rouge, Cancer Services and 
the Council on Aging.
