Claude J. Hotard, 89, a native and resident of Montegut, died Sunday, March 10, 
2013.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Samart Funeral Home in Houma, 
and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in 
Montegut. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, 

with burial in Dugas Cemetery in Montegut.

He is survived by his son, Curtis (Helen) Chaisson; nine step-grandchildren; 
and numerous step-great-grandchildren; and step-great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Hotard and Eugenia Billiot 
Hotard; and sisters, Elsie Marcel, Anna Freeman and Mary Craigmile.

Samart Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
