Members of Cornerstone Baptist Church and all surrounding churches, family and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at noon Saturday at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Gibson, with Pastor James Allen Michael officiating. Burial will be in Cornerstone Baptist Church Cemetery in Houma. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, the Rev. Henry Knightshead of Chauvin; two sons, attorney Tedrick Knightshead and mental health specialist, Martin Knightshead, both of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Dr. Kandi Knightshead and son-in-law, Jason Loukides, of Greensboro, N.C.; six grandchildren, Peyton Knightshead, Tedrick Knightshead Jr., Nylah Loukides, Ryland Loukides, Jameer Knightshead, Malayah Knightshead and Malcolm Knightshead; one sister, Deborah Eugene of Marrero; one uncle, Melvin Spanish Jr. of Gibson; mother-in-law, Mrs. Ella Knightshead of Chauvin; five sisters- in-law, Effie Bennett and Renice (Darius) Hale of Chauvin, Carolyn Robinson of Marrero, Natalie (Lloyd) Celestine and Karen (Vorise) Granger of Houma; two brothers-in-law, James Knightshead of Houma, and Murphy (Linda) Knightshead of Harvey; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Irma Spanish Brown Short; father, Joseph Brown; stepfather, Reginald Short; grandparents, Melvin and Eva Diggs Spanish; and aunt, Willie Mae Foote. Barbara was the first lady of Cornerstone Baptist Church and devoted all of her life to her children, her family and her church. Community Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements. ======================
