Stella Benoit Marcel, 72, a native of Houma and resident of Chauvin, died 
Tuesday, March 12, 2013.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 
a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A Mass of 
Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, 

with burial in St. Elie Cemetery in Chauvin.

She is survived by her daughter, Veronica Marcel Lirette and husband, Wayne; 
sons, Elmer Jr. and wife, Samantha, Kirt and wife, Carolyn, Patrick, Joseph, 
Donald and wife, Tammy, Scott and Brent Marcel; sisters, Merlene LeBouef and 
Betty Tillman; grandchildren, Candice Lirette Moon and husband, Rodney, Nikki 
Lirette Scott and husband, Brandon, Aaron Marcel, Kirby, Kirtis, Caralynn, 
Caralinna Marcel, Katelian Trahan, Baylee Marcel, Chase and Gabriele Marcel, 
Helena and Audrey Marcel; and great-grandchildren, Quentin, Savannah and Reagan 
Moon and Aubrie and Liam Scott.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Joseph Marcel; parents, Harold 
Joseph Benoit and Mable Guy Benoit; and sister, Mable Marcel.

She was a Catholic and a member of the Ward 7 Citizen Club.
She enjoyed bingo, playing cards and computer games.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
