Plaisance, 76, a native of Cut Off and resident of Chauvin, died Thursday, March 21, 2013. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Elie Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edith Bergeron Plaisance; children, Lanny Plaisance and wife, Barbie, Bambi Lynn Plaisance, Danny Plaisance and wife, Anita, and Mike Plaisance; brother, Herman Plaisance and wife, Margie; sisters, Rita Guidry, Irene Griffin and husband, Gilbert, Ramona Williams and husband, Jerry, and Irma Hartman; grandchildren, Kevin Plaisance, Miranda Plaisance, Ryan Plaisance and Destiny Plaisance; in-laws: Earl and Betty Bergeron, Ronald and Ethel Colwart, and Eva Mae Lapeyrouse; and best friends, Leroy & Donald LeBlanc. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eves and Augusta Plaisance Sr.; brothers, Norman, Eves Jr., Augustine, Ernest, and Paul Plaisance; sisters: Alzina Gisclair and Baby Plaisance; father and mother-in-law, Gustave Bergeron Jr. and Doris "Doll" LeBlanc Bergeron. He enjoyed farming, beekeeping and carpentry. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time and playing with his grandchildren. He was a tugboat captain and the owner of Skipper Ann Inc. Samart Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements. ======================
