Donna H. Semien, 60, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Peoria, 
Ariz., passed away Friday, March 8, 2013.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at New Rising Sun Baptist Church in 
Houma. 

Her final resting place will be in the church cemetery, next to her mother.

She is survived by two sons, Alejandro Semien and wife, Yvonne, of Glendale, 
Ariz., and Miguel Semien and wife, Laurie of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren, 
Xavier Semien of Glendale, Ariz., and Alexandria Semien of Phoenix, Ariz; 
brother, Ronald Hickman and wife, Brenda, of Columbia, S.C.; and sister, 
Charlene Hickman of Roy, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Mildred Hickman; sister, 
Sementra Barrow; and grandparents, Thomas and Mille Turner.

She was a retired accountant who loved arts and crafts, doing needlepoint, 
watching movies and spending time with her family. She also cherished her 
cousin, Diane Abbott, her godson, Tony Barrow, and close friend from the Church 
of Joy, Karen Hart.

All who knew her will remember her smile that would light up the room.
Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
